Depressed...?

Okay, #1, I am sick and tired of hearing about how great motherhood and family is!  I know, can you believe it?  I am!!  People just seem to be rubbing it in my face... in spite!  (Or it may be I'm just noticing it because its all I can think about.  Ya' know, like if you really, really want a Mustang car and all you see after that is Mustangs), but it couldn't be that!

It seems I can walk into a room and the conversation is normal...weather, animals, sicknesses...but after about five minutes, it'll change!  Oh, my husband and me took a bath together and we talked about our baby!  Oh, the baby is now doing this...now doing that.  I love my baby.  I love my husband.  I love life.  I'm so happy.  Blah, blah, blah, blah blah.

Why does it seem like that the people who maybe don't exactly have marriage and family on the top of their list, get it...  with no problem?  Or what about the ones who get married over and over and over again?  And these women often taint those guys so they're "never going to get married again..."

And I'm also tired of hearing that I don't get out...  I don't put myself out there.  Ya' know what...if so and so can basically sit at the house and find someone, or go to school and find someone or go to the grocery store and find someone...why the heck can't I?!?!?!?  Why do I...the shy one...have to go out and find someone to come to me?  Am I not good enough?   Why is it so hard for me?  Is is because of my weight?  Or something else?  WHAT IS IT?  TELL ME!!!!!!

Sick & Tired Of Being Sick & Tired

Have you ever felt just...blah?  I was so tired yesterday at work that I had to "take a break."  I took my two fifteen minute breaks together and took a nap.  And still, after I took my power nap, I was still exhausted.  I was so tired that I really felt sick.  I could barely keep my eyes open.

I didn't get a nap before I came in because I had a date!  Since I turned sixteen I've had two dates and those I really don't count.  The first was with my brother's best friend.  It was my Junior prom and I didn't feel comfortable going with anyone else.  It was more of a...  I don't know.  I knew him WAY too well to count it as a date.  And the second was a blind date a distant cousin set up with her husband's brother and he wouldn't talk and all did was go to a Japanese restaurant and then go to Ben & Leah's house to watch movies with them.  He's a quiet person and I'm a quiet person, so it really didn't go too well.

Anyway, there's this guy I saw at church like two or three Sunday's ago from WAY across the chapel and said, "Hm, he's cute" and didn't think anything more of it.  Next thing you know, Denese (one of the ladies at church) came up to me and said come and stop by at the church's Halloween Party (I had to work) and you can meet him.  I did and he didn't show up and then he was supposed to be at church the next day (I had to work) and he didn't show up, then he was supposed to be at church this past Sunday and wasn't there.

Denese set up a date at her house Monday and he showed up!!  It was great, we talked a lot about everything and he's really a nice guy.  He's really talks A LOT, but that's what I need.  I hardly ever talk, so I need that "class clown" to balance me out!

Mom called me a little while ago and said that Denese had called her and she told her that Tim (Denese's husband) took him over to his shop and talked to him and asked what he thought.  Mom said that he had said that he'd "have to go out again."

And that's wierd because I wasn't really nervous and the whole time during the date I wasn't thinking of excuses to leave...I was even late for work because I was wanting to stay and talk!  Then when I was leaving, the first thought that came to my mind was, "Hm, we need to go out again" and I was thinking different things we could do.  Crazy, huh?

We'll see...

Till Next Time ~

I've Found A New Flame . . .

Can you believe it?  I've found a new flame!  Johnny Depp is still up there, but he's dark complected and this new feller looks more like what I like.  His name is Curtis Stone.  He's a chef and he's the host of a new TLC show called, "Take Home Chef."  He's an Aussie, so there's the accent!!

Isn't he just the cutest thing ever?!?!?!

Pictures of the Flood

October 16, 2006

This picture I took from my truck on the road.  Its kind of hard to see, but if you can see the t-post on the right side of the picture and look just to the left, through the small break in the trees...that water, not dirt!

Okay, I took this picture right at the intersection.  I was coming from my house and was starting to turn onto the road to go to Mom & Dad's house.  The vines to the left of the picture is the first light pole, then you see the second pole, that's about midway from the mailboxes to the bridge.  And the next pole is maybe 15-20 feet on the other side of the bridge.  The water went about 8 foot past the pole!!!  Right in the middle of the flood, the depth was maybe 3 1/2 feet deep!!

In this picture I'm, obviously, in my truck.  This is the left side view looking toward my Great Uncle Marion Dale's house.  The post holding the fence up just to the left of my truck mirror...the bush just above the rail and to the left is the driveway going to his house, just to the left is the pond...the very full pond!

Still in the same spot, I just moved the camera over to the straight shot view.  The little bend of ground at the bottom, left of the picture is the bend going onto the driveway to Uncle Marion Dale's house.  You can see the road going straight ahead and the tree that looks like its in the middle of the road is actually quite a ways down the road.  The water was so high!

Okay, I had to pull into a driveway (right across the road from Uncle Marion Dale's driveway) to get this shot.  You can see how high the water got!!

You really can't see it good, but in Jarom's left hand (your right side), there is a baby catfish!  Its head is where Jarom's hands meet and the tail is going toward his left hand's thumb (your right )  If you pass the bridge and go straight (The Dead End Road is what we call it) the whole road was in about 1 1/2 to 2 feet in water and we found so many baby catfish swimming in it!

October 20, 2006

This is around the last bend of the Dead End Road, where most of the water traffic was going.  Erosion really hit it good this time.  You really can't tell how deep the whole is, but right where the big ripples are, its about 3 fet deep (this is after the water came down a great deal and you could actually drive on a semi-dry road).  Water was still spilling from the other over-grown pond, but it hadn't rained in a day or two.

Jarom is actually standing on what we think is the main water line going down to the two homes at the end of the road.  If he stands on the bottom, the water would come up above his knees!!!!

And there you go...

Till Next Time~

Wacky Weather & Spooky Scenes

We have had the wackiest weather here recently.  Back a couple of weeks ago, it hailed and I don't remember it hailing since I was a little tyke!  I actually got outside in time to get a picture of one on the ice things.  It had shrunk some, but I got it!!  (Yes, that tiny little speckle is the hail!)

Then Friday the 13th happened and all kinds of crazy stuff was happening here at the hospital.  We had a blinking light on one of the empty rooms and some of the nurses would see another nurse walk into a room and then the first nurse would walk into the same room to tell them something and they wouldn't be there.  Yeah, some funky stuff!  And one nurse's kid is kind of "psychic" and he's never been up to the hospital and knows nothing of all this stuff and he called his mom that night and said he was thinking of the number 202 in his mind.  And 202 is where all the spooky things happen.  That room is supposed to, eventually, become our ICU and until then we use the bathroom.  And when you're in the bathroom you hear people talking, like a couple of people are discussing things right outside the door and you go out expecting to see people, and there's no one there.

And then, since Sunday (the 15th) its been raining.  It actually stopped on the 17th at about 7pm and started up again Wednesday, the 18th at like 10am.  By the 17th the bridge and road were flooded.  It was flooded about 20 feet south of the bridge all the way north to the intersection.  At the mailboxes, it was up to Jarom's knees.  All of Uncle Marion Dale's land and across the road was flooded.  All of Rachel & Brant's raod was flooded from the Dead End sign.

There's a HUGE hole at the Dead End sign corner that reached up to Brant's waist.  Most of 1746 was flooded.  Over the highway, I've never seen that before, so that was pretty cool.  (I guess)  I'll be sure to get pictures of all that stuff on here.  The water came up almost to the blueberry bush patch, which it hasn't been that high, again, since I was little.

Then there was the 6.6 earthquake in Hawaii.  All islands are out of power and are asking for aide.  The freak, way-too-soon in the season blizzard in Buffalo!!  One of my friends, Brian, lives up there and sent me a few picture (that I'll get on here), and there is ssssooooo much snow!!

Horses and all animals did great during all this of course.  Plenty of shelter and all that good stuff to keep them safe.

Check back for the pictures!

A Mother's Love...

Aren't these the coolest pictures!  The one of Sarah and Claire was taken at my parents' home and the one with Ashlei and Jace was taken at JC Penny in Oklahoma.  You should go on Jace's website to see the others.  They're all so good!!!

Anyway, just thought I'd add these!

Hero

Isn't this picture the coolest!  I found it while surfing on a friends myspace site.  I think this picture really captures the love he has for animals.  He really is totally in love with this tiger cub he's holding.  He's literally holding an animal that, later on in life, could have been the one to kill him and he doesn't care.  He was so involved in the conservation of all animals.

I saw one of his shows one time where he featured the Opposum.  Now, I think these are the ugliest, most mean tempered filthy creatures that walk this earth and I honestly wouldn't blink twice if someone told me they were all killed.  Anyway, he has this show where the main thing he was discussing were rodents and this nasty thing was on it.  He just went on and on at the good qualities it had and how it helped the ecosystem and so on.

His heart was so wide open!

I just hope I can one day become as great at he was!

Having A Loverly Day!

Well, just to let you know, I didn't get paid for those two days I took to go see Jace & the family in Oklahoma.  Its a really big mess up that I'm sure I'll spill in a later entry, because I know it will happen again...hopefully not in the near future.  I don't know if I can take another short check.  That was two VERY short ones right in a row.

Anyway, here are some updated pictures of Claire and Jace...

Aren't they the cutest babies ever!  Jace has already grown soooooo much and Claire doesn't even look newborn anymore~  She looks like a little girl!  That Jace, he looks like a happy baby.  Just having a ball...

Sarah & Claire were supposed to go up with Mom this weekend, but Dave Ramsey (see his new book "The Total Money Makeover") said it wasn't a good idea.  I know they're only babies, but I would love to have seen them together.  They're reactions to one another.  I know the bond between them will be, and I'm sure were in the pre-existence, very strong.

I just hope more will follow...soon.  It looks like at least until November 2007 (when LaVoie comes home from mission) before the thought of just dating will come to mind for me.  And Megan and Jarom are still young.  So, if Kevin & Sarah or Heber & Ashlei don't have another, these two babies will be much older than the rest of the grandkids!

That'll just help that relationship between the two even more, though.

Horses are great.  Lucky Joe has scratched most of his hairs from the top of his tail again.  It seems to happen just at the Fall season now, instead of Spring and Fall.  And this year is NOT as bad as last year.  The pasture where he stays, I've noticed is the cause because I've moved the mares there and the insects mess with them more there.  I'm going to have to get Dad to spray the field for me, then.  Right at the end of summer, like they do the hay field.  I try to keep spray on him, and it does help, but Megan won't spray him on the days I work, so...

Aurora is doing excellent.  Megan's riding her more and she said, she feels just like her mother.  The gait is right on!  She was misbehaving right there at first and we just blamed it on the weather changing...her and her mother both get real excitable when its starts getting cold.  But I noticed one day, watching Megan run drills in the corral that when she used the bit, she would act up.  I brought out the halter and a lead line and fixed it up kind of like a hackamore and the problem was solved.  No more head tossing, no more "accidental" side stepping.  She actually crossed the bridge better without the bit.  She's really made me proud...Aurora and Megan.  I don't know what I would do without both of them.

And little Pearl.  That chunky-monkey is soooo spoiled.  Even more that Aurora!!  And that saying something.  I need to finish scanning her pictures to my computer and get her pages set up.  The same training problems were happening with her, too.  Took out the bit and viola!  We have another perfect horse.  I'm guessing by next Spring/Summer time ....it'll be her time to go....  I don't like to think of it, but I really need to get this Quarter Horse plan off the ground.  And with the family having a total of four horses on the three acre plot I'm leasing from Grandpa...its not good for breeding or even maintaining!!

Its said that the horse to acre ratio should be 1:1.  One horse to one acre.  And now, there's a total of six horses on a 3 acre pasture plot!  Two are mine; two 2 year olds.  And four belong to the family... or Megan.  Two 15-20 yr old mares and two younger than six month old stud colts.

I have a pasture just down the road I'm looking at for renting until they can sale three of the four.  Megan's not pulling her weight  as far as taking care of them.  She leaves tack out in the weather and has to be reminding often, bribed sometimes, and threatened to feed.  She was going to be allowed to keep two, but Dad & Mom said they've decided on letting her keep just one.

So, until that happens...I need to rent that pasture!  Its about a mile down the road and about 1 1/2 to 2 acres.  I think the guy said that its been fertilized and weeded.  There's a shed for them and so on.  I wanted to move the mares and foals because of the fertilization part, but Mom "won't have it."

Anyway, because I go on any more.  I need to get back to work...

Till Next Time~

Blah...Blah...Blah...Blah...Blah!

I think every one has heard now, but ONE case of WNV has reached Jasper County and the WHOLE place has gone crazy!!!  This hospital has seen like 10 cases today of suspected WNV.  "Oh, I got bit 30 minutes ago and I'm having flu symptoms!"  "Oh, I think I got bit by a mosquito because I have a headache, but I have a sinus infection.  Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!!!!

Anyway, on a brighter note, things with the new babies are going good!

You can check out the new pictures and updates at the above links!

I've discovered that I have now become a thief in my quest to have everything Johnny Depp!  There was a 2004 People magazine here at the hospital...one of those really thick ones that like feature the "people of the year" in them.  Well, I took it and have added it to my collection.  The other's working with me said I should just rip the picture out, but I wanted the whole thing...I needed the whole thing!

I ended up finding the original owner and she gave me the okay, she brought it up here to get it out of her house, so she didn't care whether I took it home or threw it away!  Sweh...that was a close one!

Okay, back to work now...I thought I would share a bit with you!

A Photographer Discovered!

Hey everyone...check this link out!!!

http://www.picture.com/display.asp?ID=1928638

A few weeks ago, I entered a photo of Aurora in this internet photo contest.  Well, Megan brings me my mail and says I got a picture of Aurora in the mail.  And I was thinking, "How did a stranger get a picture of my horse?  And if they did, how do they know my address to send it to me?"

It was a response to my picture!  "...Our Selection Committee has advanced your contest entry, "Reflections," to semi-finalist in the Animal/Pets category in the International Open Amateur Photography Contest."  This picture is going to be published in a photo/art magazine and be published in a coffee table, hard cover book, called Endless Journey's, due to come out Fall 2007!!!!!!  Isn't that the coolest thing!!!

You can also go to this website (if the one above doesn't work) to see the picture...

http://hometown.aol.com/paintedluckylett/princessaurora5.html

Its the top picture!  I was just giddy!  I'm up for all kinds of prizes and grants, etc.!  I'll keep you posted on the details of this!!!

Bitter Sweet

I forgot to mention today is Sarah's birthday.  The big 2 0!  For her birthday, she wanted to go to Pancho's to eat and the closest one is in Baytown.  So we all loaded up yesterday and headed that way, and guess what...  It was CLOSED!!!!  We were so ticked.  So, we just went to Chili's.  I've never been there, it was good!  The atmosphere was lively and the food was great!  I got her a snowcone maker with two matching margarita glasses.  It was pretty cool!

@--}--}------  @--}--}------  @--}--}-----  @--}--}------  @--}--}------  @--}--}------  @--}--}------

And I'm sure everyone has heard about Steve Irwin.  That man was one of my hero's.  I've been hooked on him since the first time he came on TV.  I heard about it early Tuesday morning, the 5th on the Kid Kraddick in the morning show and I just balled all the way home from work!!!

I just can't imagine what that family is going through right now.

He's Here . . . He's Here!

Well guys, he's finally here!!  Jace Tyler Odom was born September 5, 2006 @ 9:25pm.  He was 6 pounds and 14 ounces and 19 3/8 inches!

He's had to stay in the hospital a couple extra days because the doctors thought he had some fluid in his lungs, but he's home today and doing well!  He was actually supposed to have arrived on the 6th, but decided to come a bit early.  I talked to Ashlei's Mom some and she said that Ashlei was in labor all day and didn't believe it.  She was admitted at around 1pm or so and had him here at 9:30pm.  Good quick labor!  Congratulations to Heber & Ashlei for their new blessing!!!!

I left with Mom, Dad, Megan & Jarom Wednesday afternoon and got to Oklahoma City around 8:30 or 9pm, stayed at the hospital for half an hour (just enough time for me to get the privelage to change a lovely dirty diaper!!), got to Heber & Ashlei's home soon after...  We had a good time!  Mr. Clements is looking great (been sick), and Mrs. Clements looks awesome with her new haircut and clothes!!!  Sera looks like a happy college chick, Kaitlyn already has a boyfriend and Parker is growing up so fast!!!  Everything seems to be going really well.  Even Pixi & Lexi (Heber & Ashlei's dogs) are doing great.  They're so happy on their 5 acres!  Enough room to keep two little puppies busy for awhile!

Still Sick! ...And Caught Between A Rock & A Hard Place!

Wednesday morning my boss, who happened to be working on the floor with us, gave me a Rocephin shot and a steroid shot.    She said it was supposed to work or help greatly in about two days time.  Well, the snot is no longer in my nose,  its back up in my sinuses and I still have my cough.  My PCP usually puts me on a Z-Pack and a mucus med, so just the one Rx shot and steroid probably really didn't help!

Anyway, Heber & Ashlei are getting induced this coming Wednesday.    I'm really caught between just not worrying about the horses (all animals) or staying here to take care of them.  I really, really want to be up there, and I know I should be up there.  But I have things I need to take care of here.  I know I could get a neighbor to just make sure the goats have water and to make sure Lucky Joe has water...  But what about work?

They have people to work for me, but am I going to get paid for not requesting this time off 2-4 weeks ago?  How can you "plan" for a babies arrival?  I think my boss would fight to get me some time, but will I get it?!  We'd be leaving Tuesday and getting back...  Monday morning sometime.  So, really, that's only two days missed.  But two days is anywhere from 20 - 24 hours!

Okay, I just made up my mind.  I think I'm going to just risk it and pray Heavenly Father helps me out on this one!!  Mom's put me on the Dave Ramsey "Total Money Make Over" and right now I'm still working on putting the $1000 reserve fund.  Maybe this is a sign...  Maybe I was supposed to start saving for these two days I may miss...  Eh?!  So, if I don't get my time...I have that reserve in the back of the freezer to help me through until next payday!!

Groovy...its settled then!!  I'm going...darn the costs!!!  (HeHeHe...)  Family is #1 and that's just how its going to be!  I'll get Bro. Slaygle to look after the goats and ask if he'll make sure Lucky Joe has water (he has three LARGE water troughs, surely he can make it a few days)...the mares can make it a few days without being fed and I'll just go!

Thanks for all your help!

Sick As A Dog

Starting at work Friday morning I started feeling a cold coming on...I fought it off until it was almost time to leave from Sarah & Kevin's on Saturday.  Now...its a full blown allergy/cold thing!  Dad's warmed up his famous totally homemade (right down to the meat) Vegetable Soup and is force feeding me that and ginger ale.  What would I do with out him?

Oh, here's a bit of "good news"...I've recently been tested positive for TB (tuberculosis)...but only as a carrier.  Its called latent TB.  I don't have symptoms and CAN NOT pass it on, but I have been exposed.  So, from now on I'll test positive with the skin test.  Instead of that every year, now I just get an X-Ray every two years.  My P.A. and PCP aren't worried about it at all.  They're not even making me take the TB meds "just in case."  Like I said, I have no symptoms, my lungs are clear, the X-Ray I got at the office is perfect...  Oh, the joys of working in the medical field!!

LET ME STRESS...  When you cough, sneeze, whatever...  COVER YOUR MOUTH AND NOSE.  If you do it with your hand...WASH YOUR HANDS!!!  Its now being suggested, now that we've gotten most ppl to cover their mouth...but not wash their hands, to use the bend of your elbow!  PLEASE...I CAN'T STRESS IT ENOUGH....  Be polite of other's health and do all you can to prevent!!!

Anyway, let me get off my soapbox...  Kevin, Sarah & Claire stayed at their new home Saturday night!  I bet that was too cool!  Heber & Ashlei go to the doctor today to see what's up with Jace.  Ashlei's not wanting to be induced... YOU GO GIRL!!  Stay strong...

Okay, I have to work today, so its time to take a nap...  Nighty-Night!

Till Next Time...

She Slept For 5 Hours...

I think my new routine for Claire is working!  She has slept for five whole hours!  I hope Sarah can get some good sleep and totally have fun with her new baby.  She's 12 days old today!  That's so crazy...it seems like she was just born!  But I guess that's how it goes.

I can't remember if I said this (only a few hours ago), but she had a "fit" after we changed her diaper and let her sleep for about 1/2 an hour.  She LOVES to be bounced and walked and patted on the back.  I really think its a tummy ache.  It'll settle and she's quiet for awhile, then screaming like a flying dino just as quick.  Then she'll toot or give a bubbly burp...

I've got the top part of Jace's quilt finished and have all the pieces for the bottom half already cut...just have to sew them together.  I try not to boast (except for my horses...its no holds barred there), but I am so proud of that quilt!  From making my own pattern to it actually turning out to be normal looking...

I'm so thankful I got my Grandma's talent for quilts.  With my next one (one for my bed) I'm going to try it totally by hand.  I know it'll take me FOREVER, but I'd like to say I made atleast one the old fashioned way.  Since my room is in Texas decor, I figured I'd make a HUGE Texas flag quilt.  And put some of that cool gold fringe around the outside with gold tassles on the corners.  I think that'll look classy.  I'll be sure and post pics of both when I get them finished!

Till Next Time...Emelie

12:49 AM

I'm Here

I've decided to take my Uncle Ron's advise and go ahead and come.  One of the ladies in our church was going to have a get together at her house, but cancelled and Sarah was planning on coming and staying with us.  I mentioned to Kevin this tid bit of info and he told Sarah and she wasn't really looking forward to the drive over.  We told him that we (me and Dad) are totally willing to come pick her up.

I tried calling several times and she didn't answer...  Mom said Kevin called her and said she needed her, and I asked if she wouldn't mind if I came.  So, here I am.  Sarah acted like she didn't want me here.  She like didn't look at me, didn't talk to me...didn't even acknowledge I was even here.

At first, I felt like I was going to cry my eyes out!  Plus it didn't help I'd been up for about 25 hours...  I finally jut laid down before I walked home at about 9pm.  You can see the time now...  I just got finished feeding Claire, changing a diaper and bouncing her tummy ache away.

Sarah said Claire is a "pteradactyle possessed baby"...  And its true...  When she gets totally upset, she sounds like one of those flying dinosaurs.  But I think I've figured she just needs to be burped more often.  I noticed Sarah and Kevin feed her like 1.5 oz at a time, burps, the other 1.5 and burps...only one burp...  So, when I had her, I tried feeding like 1/2 oz and burping her for more than one good burp...  and the dino never came.  Hopefully, Sarah will take me advise and try it this way...

And the the PPD, baby Claire is totally getting Sarah's vibes and freaking out.  Her doctor has an Rx for her and hopefully that'll work, and with a good night's rest, she'll be ready.  I told her, since she has no other commitments...when that baby sleeps, she needs to sleeps.  She's up all day with Claire and tries to sleep at night and, of course, it gets interupted and she's not getting that full nights rest.  We'll see though.

...I've found a farrier to come and work on the horses, but I have to call him and schedule it how I need it.  Which is totally cool, whatever I have to do to take care of them.  He's worked with Dad at the prison and is really patient with the horses.  (Plus, he's cute!!)

Dad said he's found a buyer for Pearl, but I really don't think I can do it!!!!  She's the first baby on the place and I am soooooo attached.  That's one of the biggest weaknesses I have with this Ranch thing.  That can be good and bad...and with my limited income and limited land use, its not so good.  We'll see, though!!  (I think that's my new quote)

Till Next Time... Emelie

A Little Bit More

Here's another pic of The Man.  I don't know what it is about Johnny Depp, but he really has me captivated.  Is it because he is a once bad boy turned good?  -Is it because of his acting?  -Is it the whole family man thing?  I really don't know...but he's got me!

I'm In Love <3

Okay...I admit it...I am in love.  I have never been in love with a celebrity.  I mean I'm passionate about Elton John's music and I record everything that has to do with him.  And I try to catch everything Jim Carrey & Harland Williams'  are in, but this man has totally captivated me!!

Johnny Depp is the man!!!    I've watched him since I was little and have been impressed, but not so much as recently.  If you haven't seen "Secret Window" you should, because this movie is sooooo good!  This movie made me fall in love with him.

Anyone...male or female...who can play a variety of characters (Gilbert Grape >>> Edward Scissorhands >>> Willie Wonka >>> Mort Rainey) and be tremendously good in all of them, is the #1 actor/actress in my book!!

He's "so delectable and so darn good looking!"  I say that all the time about Johnny.  I stole it from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" when he's talking about his edible grass.  And "every thing here is eat-able, even I'm eat-able." LOL!!!!!

I'm Okay . . . Really I Am! (Am I?)

Okay, I'm over it...so far.  I called my Mom (I'm at work) and told her about my conversation with Sarah and she got a beep on her phone and had to call me back.  She finally called me back and said that it was my Uncle Ron from Virginia.  She said she talked to him about our little problem and he said to ignore her because she hormonal (which is true!  duh!) and to stay with her this weekend, no matter what!  Later, when her hormones level out, she'll appreciate it, is what he told Mom to tell me.

He always give good advise...he really doesn't choose sides...he gives the best advise for both parties, which is what I love the most about him!

OOOOHHHHH!!!!!  Ashlei is 3cm and she's not even due for another two weeks!!!  She said her doctor said that if she is 4cm by her next appt. they will induce her.  Hopefully, I'll have my stuff together enough to go (of course I'm going up there if it is or not, so I shouldn't worry about it)!!!!  But I'm excited...Jace will be here shortly!!

Women Are From Venus...

I think the title for this entry is self explanitory.  I am a woman myself, and I don't understand us...  My sister just had a baby and she's suffering from PP-Depression and has not called us, her family.

I totally don't mean to talk down about her if I'm coming off like that, but she's always been like this.  When she's "in trouble" or when something is not going her way, she turns away from her family.  And by her doing that, it makes us...her family...feel unimportant, especially Mom.  Her whole life as been us and it really, really hurts her when we don't come to her for our littlest of problems.

When someone, especially those close, is hurting...it hurts us as if we're the ones going through it.

I've called Sarah, left messages and talked to her and everytime a member of Kevin's family has answered.  Which is totally cool, I'm thankful that they are so close and able to help her, but it hurts when you know she needs help and she doesn't call us...she doesn't keep us involved.  I've offered to come stay with her and she acts like she either doesn't want me there or doesn't need me there.  She's cold & distant!  She's distracted whe I talk to her.  I know she has the baby to take care of, but...  I've dealt with problems like this from all people, but from somone who is supposed family & supposed to be my best friend...

I really don't know how to deal with this.  Should I go ahead and stay with her this weekend and HOPE she's thankful and happy to have me there or do I stay home and wait for her to call me?????  I really don't know!!!!

Just FYI

Hey guys!  I was just reading the old entry about Jasper and since then I've talked to a retired Game Warden...the one we always call...and he said the long fall on a cement parking lot probably gave him some kind of internal injury.  And since he didn't bleed out anywhere or didn't throw up his food, it was most likely in his head.

Anyway, Mom is home now from Sarah & Kevin's.  They'll be moving sometime soon into their new home.  Where they'll be is about right in the middle of us and her in-laws, so that'll be cool for us!!  And I know the town they're moving to, so that'll help this country girl out!  I hate the city and I always will.  I don't go by street signs, I go by markers.  Tell me to turn right at the 4rd pile of horse poop or the tree that looks like a man, I can do that!!  But tell me to take 3rd Avenue and look for the Main St Exit...WHAT?!?!?!?!?

I know I'm a hick, but I love it!!!  I love leaving my purse and keys in my truck at night.  I love leaving my door unlocked when I sleep.  I love going outside and being able to scream as loud as I want to and not worry about the neighbors calling the cops.  I love taking guns out at night and shooting bull frogs in the pond.  I love having a TON of critters...all kinds and how ever many I want!  I love being surrounded by my family and a few friends!  I love to walk down my dirt road in my bare feet and not having to worry about getting mugged or stepping on a dirty needle.  The only thing we really have to worry about are snakes.

Anyway, that's enough from this country girl!

Until next time...Emelie

Got Milk?

Hey guys!  Isn't she too cute?  In this picture baby Claire is two days old and bright eyed and bushy tailed.  I know I have this on the Ox Bow O Ranch home page, but it won't be there much longer...so I decided to put it on here!

Watcha Think of My Niece?

Hey folks...did you see the picture of my niece of the homepage?  You should check it out if you didn't!  She is still so beautiful!  I went to Sarah & Kevin's home Thursday evening to visit with them and in those few short days, she has already changed to much.  They said she doesn't sleep...anytime...I only had to hold her for a few short minutes and she was out and pretty much slept the whole time I was there.  (A good three hours at least.)  She ate and Sarah let me change her diaper.  Brought back a lot of memories of babysitting my brother & sisters and other kids...

I miss it!!  ...And can't wait until its my turn!!  Hopefully, the guy I'm interested in decides to really come back to Texas as he's planned and, well...we'll see what happens.

Till Next Time...Emelie
